Today we are super delighted to announce that we have received IWSC awards for three of our ciders. We entered them in the 2023 International Wine & Spirit Competition 100% fresh-pressed fruit, not-from-concentrate category. This is the only competition we have entered any of our ciders into this year and so we are very happy to have achieved such a great result.
It is especially pleasing when you consider that, in the 100% fresh pressed Cider, Perry & Fruit Wine Judging, there were only 6 Gold, 12 Silver, and 30 Bronze medals awarded in total.
The winning ciders
Without further ado, our three bronze award winning ciders are:
- Milo’s Magic 500ml
- Yarlington Mill 2021 single variety, naturally sparkling, 750ml
- Yarlington Mill & Michelin keeved 2021, naturally sparkling, 750ml
As you can see, one of our favourite cider apples, the Yarlington Mill, features heavily in this stunning selection of ciders. As well as the two ciders that bear its name on the label, the Milo’s Magic also has a good proportion of Yarlington Mill in its blend.
Milo’s Magic has always been one of our most popular ciders, and although the wonderful Milo, who is featured on the label, is sadly no longer with us, his cider dog magic truly lives on in this award-winning cider.
The eagle-eyed amongst you may have realised that the Yarlington Mill 2021 single variety 750ml isn’t yet on sale. But worry not; we plan to release it very soon, and so it won’t be too long until you can try all of these award-winning ciders for yourself.
Previous IWSC awards
The last time we entered the IWSC awards competition, in 2021, we won two bronze awards, with our 500ml Yarlington Mill single variety cider, and our 750ml Michelin single variety keeved cider. Here’s a news post from that time.
Looking to the future
We are hoping that the next time we get around to entering, we might possibly achieve a silver. You have to have something to aim for, after all!
